How To Get Allot Out Of A Little

Your Guide To Success

Have you wondered what could expand your business? Of course, you have. As business owners and entrepreneurs, we all look at what we can do to add more income to the bank account. If that means adding services, making changes to our daily routines, and how we manage our time more effectively – we’ll do it all. Although doing those tasks can and may change your business for the better there are other effective small changes you can make that can change your business volumes. In this article, we will go over three ways you can maximize results with minor changes to your daily routines and tasks.

  1. Pre Planning And How It Can Help You Listen Better

There is no question that listening is the key to communicating effectively. Whether you are salesmen, client, or speaking with a potential customer, how you communicate matters. In an interview with serial entrepreneur, Clint Gibbons, on Evolved Lyfe, he mentions ways on how you can listen better when calling businesses (You can find that interview here). He states that you need to put aside all distractions – cell phones, tablets, computers (unless you’re using that for the task at hand), TV, etc. By doing this you allow your brain to focus on just the task at hand. After you have taken out all distractions write down all the things you may or may not understand. This will allow you to ask better questions. We’ve written out five questions you should ask yourself so you can be a more effective communicator!

  • What makes the client think what’s not important?
  • Is there something that drives the client?
  • What is my long-term objective with this relationship with this person?
  • How do I want this person’s business to grow?
  • What’s ahead in one to two years later?

When answering these questions it’s important that you really take time to answer these honestly. This will mean the difference between gaining a client, customer, or sale. You can also ask yourself these questions when talking in person. Now we don’t expect you to pull out a pen and piece of paper to write these all down in front of a client or customer but trust your instincts. As you develop these skills they will start to come more naturally over time.

If you feel you need more references on this Tony Robbins has a blog post about The Two Keys To Persuasion. He goes over how to communicate and get right to the root of what causes others to buy your product or services.

  1. Customer Service – How To Get What You Want

For some businesses, they need to sell directly to a higher position holding individuals in a company which means needing to get past a gatekeeper. If you have ever been in business to business sales this is almost always the case. This can be a troubling and daunting task for some but there are ways to overcome this fear and produce great results!

By asking questions that are above the gatekeepers knowledge you automatically put yourself as the higher individual in the conversation. You’re not achieving this by boasting or having a bigger ego but by asking well-designed questions that put the gatekeeper on their toes. They will most likely begin to ask you questions out of curiosity about your product or service and this is your time to listen. You can develop a relationship by gaining their perspective on why they may or may not want your service. This is okay because you want the relationship and bond with that person and company. With some persistence and persuasion, you will get past the gatekeeper and arrange that call or meeting with the owner/CEO!

  1. Leadership – How To Be Better Leader

Putting this information together and utilizing the tools that Evolved Lyfe provides you will assist you in becoming an amazing leader. You are probably wondering, but how do I become the leader everyone wants to listen too? Take the following suggestions and apply them to your workspace.

  • Build Pathways For Others To Grow

When you treat your employees like you would treat a potential customer or client this allows them to make decisions for themselves. Give avenues to explore their own personal development, share what you have learned from previous mentors, and open up a source for them to learn from. When you enable the other person to learn and make their own decisions they will grow a bond with you that will last a lifetime. You will innately develop more leaders in your business which is a win-win for you and them!

  • Give Tasks That Challenge Your Team

Challenge your team to tasks that are within their abilities. Give incentives for those who call the most businesses, set up the most meetings, or successfully reach a personal goal. This will ensure your team members interact with you and stay in constant communication. After all, healthy competition in the workplace boosts productivity!

  • Be Yourself!

No one likes having a power hungry manager or owner barking down their throat. Interacting with your team members on a personal level will make them feel like they are level with you and are most likely to do what you ask them to do. Be constructive and positive with your attitude. This will make all the difference for them and YOU!

In all, there are some great strategies out there that can really boost you and your company to new levels. By utilizing just some of these techniques listed you can be sure to see some positive results in productivity, communication, and personal development. It’s important to practice these skills and listen to those around you. By asking better questions and writing them down every day you will ensure your path to success! It’s simple to get a lot out of a little!

10 common limiting beliefs on money and how to change them

By | articles, making money

The different perspectives on money are astounding. It is one of those things that we have so many mixed beliefs around. On the one hand we want it, and lots of it! On the other we’ve somehow learned all kinds of negative things about money. So before we get into specific beliefs that may be holding you back from having more money in your life let’s just define what money is.

Money: Something generally accepted as a medium of exchange, a measure of value, or a means of payment:

Now let’s break this down: Money is a medium of exchange – it is a tool of commerce. If we went back to the days before money existed people used a barter system. Under the barter system often there was more time spent trying to trade the items that you produced than their was producing them. Everyone had to have sales and customer service skills.  So much time was wasted. By having currency humans improved the efficiency of all of commerce. It allowed us to go from huts to houses, it allowed us to jump from poverty to wealth. Having currency changed everything! It’s created opportunity for everyone.

Money is a measure of value. If money is a measure of value the more value you create – then the more money you should receive. However, it is up to you set your pricing and refuse to work for less than you are worth. If you can’t get paid what you think you are worth, then improve your skillset, output, productivity – learn how to create more value you will get paid for it.

Money is a means of payment. Money is a way for people to reward others for work done, risks taken and value added. It is a way to show appreciation of another’s aptitude.

Money itself is not good or bad – money does not pick up a gun and shoot someone nor does it call 911 when someone is having a heart attack. It is up to you to decide how to use money; for you to do what you think is right with it. That being said let’s look at 10 common limiting beliefs about money.

Now before we go any further if you’d rather watch this one video be sure to check out my facebook page where I do videos almost everyday on a variety of topics.

1. “Money is the root of all evil.”

This belief has been perpetuated because scripture has been taken out of context. It actually is “the love of money…” This is because people that are solely driven by the desire to have money often let their ego’s take control.  When the ego is in control they are more susceptible to making decisions that don’t take into account humanity. The ego is very individualistic and when it’s in the driver seat in regards to money it can be very selfish. This is also true for the ego in other areas of life.

When we look at media the news, movies, tv it often vilifies those with riches because it is written to appeal to the masses. The hero must be broke to do this.  In addition their are people out there who are being run by their egos. Those people often “step on the little guy” to get ahead. This is not always the case. People like Bill Gates, Barron Hilton, Larry Ellison & Carl Icahn have pledged to give away billions to those less fortunate. The truth is the only way to eradicate poverty is with money – and lots of it.

A more appropriate belief is that “money is a magnifier.” Having money makes you more of who you are. It allows you to do more of anything and everything. If you are the type of person who wants the best for mankind than it is very important for you to have as much money as possible. You’ll be able to give more.

Entrepreneurs create massive wealth for themselves and others. In fact by comparison in most incidences the entrepreneurs only keep a small fraction of the wealth that they generate. The money companies produce employees millions.  Those employees have families and friends that they use daily to put food on the table, to buy homes and spend on items that employ more people. Spending money is actually adding value to society.

Money as a medium of exchange facilitates progress towards goals. So when setting goals around making money have a charitable component, a reason larger than yourself to earn and you’ll be living a life where “Money is the tool that allows you to do good for humanity.”

Replace this belief with: “Money is the tool that allows me to do good for humanity.”

2. “Money is not that important. It’s only money.”

This belief is a common way for people to not take control of their destiny.  It’s much easier to state money is not important. The truth is money will allow you to live your fullest expression of life. Many people think about the things they can have with money – while this may be a fundamental motivator it is not enough to create wealth.  When you think about all the good that you can do for your family, friends and community it becomes much more palatable. It may mean you can help people with debt, access to better education or living circumstances. It may mean that you can provide experiences that bring joy, that allow people to expand their ability to create by believing more is possible. When you create wealth it shows others that they can too. When you have an abundance of money you can use money towards a cause that you feel is noble. It’s up to you to decide how you spend it. It can be a new or improved product or service or you can even donate it directly to a charity.

Replace this belief with something like: “With an abundance of money I can live a fuller expression of the life I want to live and I can help others in the process.”

3. “Money is there to be spent.”

This belief will make sure that you stay broke! Most people are trained to spend the money they have in trade for immediate gratification. This day in age the majority of people are living paycheck to paycheck working in jobs that they don’t love – therefore come the end of the week it is time to celebrate – this may mean going out to the bar, buying those new shoes, upgrading your vehicle or even just getting that morning latte on the way to work. While anyone of these things in casual doses is a great way to reward yourself for the hardwork and sacrifice you have made when they become habits it’ll make a huge dent in your financial situation.

If you save just $10 a day for 25 years you can turn that it into $1mm by leveraging compound interest. Take an audit of where you are spending your cash daily – eliminate the subscriptions, reduce your insurance expenses by shopping around, reduce your debts and put that money into an interest bearing account and you will surely be on your way to being a millionaire. This money saved does not need to be retirement – maybe you want to start a business and you can then become your own investor!

Replace this belief with: “The money I save today will allow me to live my dreams.”

4. “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.”

People that believe this often have been misinformed by some authority that does not have any money. It’s much easier for us to be victims of circumstance than to take ownership of our own life. If this is your belief you will be better served by focusing on the millions of rags to riches stories. Make a commitment to write yours. I am one of those stories. How did I do it? It started by changing my belief to one of empowerment. When I decided to write down my goals and pursue them incessantly it only took a few months for the money to start rolling in. Yes there were several things that I tried first that put me in a bind but it was all part of the learning process. You didn’t learn to take your first step and fall down as a toddler only to decide you could crawl everywhere instead. You had to take a second step and a third and eventually you got the hang of it.  You may have fallen several times but learned what worked and what did not. Stay motivated by focusing on the wins and what you learned from each misstep along the way and you will quickly be on your way to getting richer.

Change this belief to: “By focusing my thoughts and emotions on my goals I get richer.”

5. “I’m just not good with money.”

You may have had made some terrible decisions with money in the past – but that does not mean you will in the future. Carrying this belief will reinforce it so long as you are looking for evidence of how you could have better spent your money. Instead focus on the fact that you can always learn something new. When i bought my first condo it was the height of the market – the value dropped by 2/3rds and I lost over $200,000. It was a painful experience but well worth it because the next condo I purchased I made over $500,000 on. I learned how to navigate the market better, when to buy, where to buy and how to buy. You can learn how to be more efficient with your money. By reading this you’ve already taken a giant leap. If this is your concern start tracking your expenses and read a book on money management – you can even get great books for free on youtube. I highly recommend “Money Masters the Game” by Tony Robbins. He interviews the experts and you’ll walk learn exactly how you can turn your money management skills into dollars and cents. Listen to it while you drive to work and start implementing the steps.  You don’t even have to figure things out – it’s laid out right for you how to create tremendous wealth.

Change this belief to: “I always learn better ways to manage my money and therefore it grows.”

6. “My family has never been rich.”

I remember my Grandmother coming to my condo in Miami for the first time. She walked in slowly and took three steps before she could move further she topped to catch her breath. I waited for her to speak. I was really excited to finally have her in one of my homes – she never got to visit before. She looked at me and smiled. I looked back and smiled, with pressing eyes wanting to know what she thought. Nana looked up at me and said “So this is how the ‘other half’ live.”  She was so incredibly proud of me.  I am living proof that this belief is FALSE!

The source of people thinking wealth is in their DNA actually comes from either very misinformed or corrupt individuals. Back in the days of the feudal systems it was extremely difficult to move through the classes – where you were born is where you will die. However this is not the case in the 21st century. Just look at the thousands of rags to riches stories – or even look at those who started with money and squandered it. Accumulating wealth is a combination of two factors – How much value you create in the world & your ability to invest any riches you generate.

Fortunately, I was able to generate so much wealth that I gave my parents a huge sum of money that allowed them to retire 10 years early.  My parents started off broke but they made amazing decisions and created tons of value – they actually only use that money for investment and do not need to live off of it.  The ability to give back to my parents was one of the most rewarding moments of my life!

Change this belief to: “I create such an abundance of wealth I can change the life of anyone I choose.”

7. “Money is a limited resource.”

While technically speaking money is a finite resource – around $250 trillion – that would actually give every person on the earth about $35k.  However the really neat thing about money is that it is liquid – that means so long as it is circulated there is always enough to go around. If you had $35k everyday do you think you’d run out? How would you live differently if you knew that each day you could start with $35k?

The only thing that will ever end poverty is money and the circulation of it.  By you creating wealth for yourself and spending it on products and services you love you are actually doing good for mankind. Money is only a limited resource for those who do not understand this law of circulation. The more you give, the more you will get, unless of course you believe it is a limited resource because when you do you are creating resistance to seeing it show up!

Change this belief to: “There is more than enough money for me and everyone else to live a fulfilling life.”

8. “You have to work hard to get wealthy.”

When I was growing up my father worked multiple jobs to get by. I heard him say “You have to work hard to get rich.” thousands of times throughout my childhood. Do you know when you finally became wealthy? Shortly after he retired from his 9-5 at the railroad was when he actually had cash start rolling in. His hourly rate went up by 6x (I challenged him to 10x it and still believe he would have gotten paid.) He started doing some part time real estate and has had months where he’s made more than he made in his best year working fewer hours.

Here’s what happens when you carry this belief – you only look for jobs that require you to work hard. The reality is that there is something that you love to do, that you have the talent to do and there is someone out there willing to pay you handsomely for it. Rethink what you truly enjoy to do and see what the marketplace is for it. When you invest in yourself and what you are called to do, where you have natural talent and enjoy it – that is when you can get so good at it that you will make more than you ever thought possible – because you get so good at it! It may mean that you have to take a short term pay cut to go down this direction – but if you love it not only will it be worth it for your quality of life but before long the riches will come. Don’t let shortsightedness hold you back from living your dream life.

Change this belief to: “When I do what I love I create the most wealth.”

9. You are either rich or happy, healthy, kind, good parent, etc….

Many times we see rich people who have sacrificed another area of their life in order to create financial success. This out of balance view can happen in any category of your life if you are not 100% conscious how you are spending your time. It is so easy to hustle on things that do not have a large impact. If you want riches, healthy, happiness or any other feeling, experience or thing you must have a clear picture of what is important to you. Fuzzy Targets don’t get hit.

You can create a life of balance so long as you create an accurate picture of what is important to you. In fact having money can allow you to be: Happier – have experiences that are larger than we’ve ever imagined. Healthier – gym membership & personal trainers, higher quality food. Better parents – access to better education for ourselves and children, setting an example of how to create value and use money in a way that serves humanity.

Change this belief to: “I know what is important to me and having money helps me to get more of it.”

10. “It’s selfish to want a lot of money.”

As mentioned several times in this article, money comes as the result of adding value.  Directing your time and energy towards creating something of value deserves to be rewarded. The more value you add the more money you will receive. Having wealth is a direct result of creating value – it is a reflection of created value – this means that selfishness will actually repel money.

So many people are so proud of being poor, they are proud of their humility – which is anything but humble. There is no nobility in being poor – ask anyone who has been poor and rich and they will say being rich is hands down more enjoyable than being poor.

Change this belief to: “The more value I create in the world the more money I receive.” or “The wealth I have is a direct reflection of how much value I have created.”

There you have it.  Now it’s time for you to discover what other beliefs that may be helping you or limiting you in regards to money. If you have a limiting belief around money and are not sure how to rewrite or hack it be sure to write me on facebook!

How To Get A Raise

By | articles, making money, manifestation, personal development

Many people would love to get a raise but aren’t sure how to accomplish that. Who wouldn’t like to make more money, right?

Here are some tips to help you get a raise:

  1. Do more than expected and go the extra mile. It’s important to make a good impression upon your superiors by always showing up to work on time and doing the job expected of you. But, when you go above and beyond, for example like going into work early or staying late or taking on extra work or helping others with theirs, you show that you’re appreciative of your job and you want to make a difference. By doing things like these, someone will often take notice and feel that you are more valuable to the company. When you go the extra mile, your employer might think of you as someone they feel they can count on which can lead to more opportunity and responsibility as a result.
  2. Improve your relationships with the people around you. Make the effort to do this with your coworkers and managers, etc. When you make what’s important to them important to you, people want you around. So listen to the details that people are providing you. Whatever they might talk to you about that they feel is important in relation to their lives, take the time to listen and be supportive. People will appreciate when you engage in conversations with topics that are meaningful to them. As a result, you’ll find that your relationships will improve dramatically. If you own your own business, do this with your customers and you’ll often find them continue to return and bring more business to you as they appreciate you taking the time to pay attention to the details.
  3. Ask for feedback. Again, do this with your coworkers, managers, customers etc. and ask how they think you can contribute more, what they like about what you’re already doing and what areas could use a little bit of improvement. If you do this on a continual basis, without overdoing it, it will help to improve your relationships with those people and you’re automatically going to attract a different attitude from them. Maybe some of them are people who no one else likes to work with, but because you’ve invested in yourself in asking for feedback, you might be that person who gets a different result than everyone else and a stronger working relationship than the others might have with them.
  4. Show up early, even if it’s just by a couple minutes, and with a positive attitude. It doesn’t matter what’s happening at home, what happened yesterday at work or what you think might happen in a meeting that day, start your day off with the right attitude and you set the right tone for the day ahead. The people who show that they’re positive and passionate about what they do are more likely to stand out and be looked upon as someone that can be trusted and is worthy of a better position which also comes along with a higher salary or hourly rate. Doing this doesn’t necessarily mean you can do everything, but more so that you know that everything can be done and are willing to help find a way.
  5. Improve or automate a process and create more value. Make it measurable like coming up with ways to drive more revenue, helping something to be produced faster or cutting costs somewhere. Doing even the smallest of things can often help make a large, impactful difference. Let your light shine and make sure you show how you’re creating more value to your superiors to help them see that you deserve a piece of the results.

We Are Powerful – Make Someones Day

By | life lessons, making money, videos

We are powerful. How powerful we are really occurred to me the other day when I was running late for an appointment.  I blazed out the door, barely giving my wife the goodbye she deserved, past the front desk without even a nod, I hurried the valet to get my car and my whole drive to the appointment I weaved through traffic like a champion coming through the pack.  The only problem is that in my brief encounter with probably close to 100 people I probably left them each a little deflated. I got to my appointment before the person I was meeting. Here I added unneeded stress to my life and to each person I blazed past. As I was impatiently waiting I started to reflect. I realized that I did not treat each person with the love they deserved all morning. I changed my tune and the stress dissipated and with each person I engaged I worked towards getting a smile.

The point is, everything we do has a ripple effect.  Think about each person you encounter. Do you smile, frown, say hello or keep your head down? Are you treating each person how you’d like to be treated?

I know there are times where I am not my best self and it may be difficult to be that person all of the time.  However we are powerful beyond what we ordinarily realize. We get so stuck in our own agenda that sometimes our own power gets lost. By being present and maintaining a positive attitude you have the power to change the direction of each persons life. By being conscious of this you set the stage to lead a more fulfilling life.

You never know what kind of day is happening for someone else, but you can always be a force for good. One that helps improve that persons day. You may save a life or you may just help someone crack a smile. Our presence can either be a present or a curse. How do you want to exhibit your power? Watch this video for tips on how to stay on track to make sure you use your power to make sure you deliver all of your gifts.

In 24 Hours-Change Forever, for the Better

By | articles, making money, my journey, personal development | One Comment

What did you do yesterday that changed your life for the better, forever?

When I look back in the past I see that there were many days that I spent more time helping others, watching tv, working for money or even playing games than I did improving my quality of life. For nearly a decade I coasted through life rather than making the most of it. When I ask around it seems that I am not alone.

If you are reading this article, I can assure you it’s not by chance; either you are actively seeking to make a major improvement in your life or a power much greater is telling you it is time.

For many, looking back on yesterdays they see regrets or things they would have done differently. There is only one foolproof way to be sure that tomorrow, when you look back on the past, you can be proud. That one way is to make sure you make the most of your day today. How can you do that? Learn something new, implement it and make some kind of improvement. The majority of people don’t even consider that their quality of life is in direct proportion to the quality of their thinking.

Why is this? There are so many theories but they all seem to boil down to this one factor: we are creatures of habit. We always do what we have always done, so we always get what we have always gotten. Even when we want to make a change we often do not know what is going to work. In an infinite world, we have infinite options which means picking the right one is highly unlikely. However rather than tuning into your favorite pandora station the road or having another night of “netflix and chill” I challenge you to redirect a portion of this time to personal development.

If you are not ready to commit to 24 hours of videos I totally understand. I take key components and make short videos, so subscribe to my youtube channel. If you like what you have read so far, before you read on, recommend or share this article and follow me. (You have no idea how much it makes my day when I see new subscribers and followers.)

For those of you who are ready to go all in, the links below are a fast, easy and free way to improve your life. All you have to do is listen; listen over and over. A magical thing will happen — your thinking will change and when it does your life will become easier. Effortlessly things just seem to get better. New opportunities arise, new people come into your life and no matter where you are today things get better. Now if you put in active effort things will change even more rapidly. There will be turbulence, you will have to leave some things, habits and people behind to change your life but it will become natural and you will grow. You will live the life you were born to live, the one you have always wanted.

I tried to put them in the order that they are most palatable. Some of the information may be new, just keep an open mind. If you heard something before listen just as intently — you are hearing it again because there is still something to be learned. I would recommend listening to each one several times before moving on to the next. Take notes if you feel inclined, recite concepts back to yourself. I learned more from this 24 hours of content than my entire brick and mortar education (I have a Master’s.)

hint: try to start your day off with these even if it is in the background while you brush your teeth, shower or eat breakfast — the tone of your entire day will change!

Become a Millionaire. Dreams Come True!

Become a Millionaire in Ten Steps

By | articles, life lessons, making money, my journey, personal development | 7 Comments

As you may know I went from receiving governmental housing assistance in 2002 to being a multimillionaire by 2006. Below is a list of ten things that I did that helped me become a millionaire many times over.  All of which you can do, not one requires capital, you have everything innately inside of you to accomplish your goals through this method. My dreams came true. Do these ten and you will make your dreams come true too.

become a millionaire

Steps to become a millionaire

  1. Define what you want. I created a goal setting sheet for myself, high on the list was to become a millionaire. I had a 5 year goal to make $4mm (I exceeded that significantly in about 3 years.) It does not matter what your goal is, it can be material, spiritual, emotional or encompass all of the above — the important thing is that you have one. Write this down – it’s a key step in turning a thought into a thing. The permanence of the pen is powerful. Read it daily, use step two to help build the belief you can achieve it.
  2. Break your large goal into smaller goals. The little things add up to big things very quickly. I broke my goal up into micro goals: 3 years, 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, 1 week and daily. My three year goal for example was to become a millionaire.  I figured if I could figure out how to become a millionaire in three years that it’d be easy to turn that into $4mm with two more – After all I was coming from basically zero. Because I was going for a dollar figure I knew that if I wanted to make $4mm in 5 years, my daily goal would be $2,191.78 if it was a linear approach – I knew if I got to that number daily then I was on track. I also knew for every 100 sales calls, I would be able to close one deal that would exceed $2,000 in profit. It made it very easy for me to make 200 calls each day. A simple motivator. Find these metrics and create a plan to achieve it in what you want to do if possible. If it is not so clear make it as clear as possible and don’t be afraid to modify it — you will automatically get better at what you do if you do it often. Celebrate each time you accomplish these micro goals — they are the key to achieving your larger goal.
  3. Go the extra mile. Always, always give more than what is expected of you. You don’t even have to do it for the other parties involved you should do it for yourself. It will force you to get better. Perpetual improvement coupled with the Law of Compounding Returns will help you to accomplish more than you ever could conceive of.
  4. Be obsessed, be bold, be fearless. If you are not obsessed with accomplishing your goal it is the wrong goal. You do not want it badly enough. You should be so obsessed that you share what you want openly with anyone regardless of what they may say. If they become a naysayer or hater it actually will help you to know that they are not someone to count on and you should probably spend less or no time with them in the future. When you notice people who do not support your dream, keep your dreams to yourself, as they will only attempt to distract you from them. If you are focused on achieving what you want you won’t have time for anything else — including gossip & rumors. You won’t spread them, you won’t acknowledge them. Your integrity will always be intact, you will be true to yourself, in turn you will be true to everything around you. I was going to become a millionaire and everyone around me knew it.
  5. Surround yourself with people who support you. You will never be much better than your environment. Surround yourself with the best people you can find and be ok with moving on when you out grow them. You will learn far more and become increasingly successful in every facet of your life. You will learn from everyone you are around — might as well be things that will help you live a more happy and fulfilling life. This was a very difficult one for me — I held on to many relationships for way too long that I had outgrown for the concept of “loyalty to my roots.” There were few exceptions among my roots that actually wanted me to succeed and even fewer that were willing to make any changes so that they could live the life of their dreams. I never give up that they may one day start some personal development and our paths may cross again — but that is up to the universe because I am not going back to poverty. In a world with access to such an abundance of information; poverty is a choice, it’s a mindset and the only way someone can make the leap is by changing their own mind. If you want to become a millionaire you may have to let go of a few people.
  6. Listen more than you speak. When you listen you automatically are in a mode of receiving. This coupled with surrounding yourself with the right people will bring about abundance in knowledge and intuition. Don’t forget to listen to yourself when you are speaking as well. Because what we see is a reflection of what is going on internally, we often learn more about ourselves and what we need to do next when we listen to our own words of advice to others.
  7. Be direct — Tell people exactly what you expect from them and what they can expect from you. If you share why something should be done a certain way or any opinion be sure to be able to back it up with facts and any possible holes in your theory. Don’t spread rumors — they are usually lies — if your intuition is telling you it may be an important truth be sure to clarify when speaking about it i.e. “Rumor has it…I am only telling you this because we should look into it before making a decision”. If you don’t know something be honest about it. Expect this treatment from others, anyone who does not treat you with this level of respect is not respectful of themselves.
  8. See failure as part of the path to success. It’s very rare that we do something perfectly the first try and even if we do it’s even more infrequent that we can repeat it perfectly on our second try. However after repetition we can improve each time we set out to accomplish anything. This is very easy to see as we throw a ball, swing a golf club, drive a car or any daily task. It is the same way with anything we are trying to accomplish. Recognize what worked and focus on that, the errors will fall away if you focus on the success. If you focus on the error you are bound to get more of them and feel defeated. Stay focused on what you want and you will get more of it — this is supported by the fundamental Law of Attraction.
  9. Always be learning. Spend at least 30 minutes each day becoming an expert in a field of your choosing. When you make a daily habit to work towards an expertise you are bound to become an expert. There are very few experts at anything so when you do this you will automatically separate yourself from the pack. We are all a sum total of our thoughts — they make our habits and control our actions. A higher level of understanding will open you up to more opportunities than you know what to do with. You will find yourself in a state of giving away opportunities to others because you are having so much fun executing what you are obsessed with. There is a tipping point where the learning becomes as much fun as the execution and that’s when things get really interesting.
  10. Stay focused. Use affirmations, visualization and read your goals daily. You will never get where you want to go if you don’t keep looking at it. Read your written goal daily, create a vision board and then spend at least 15 minutes a day sitting back imagining yourself accomplishing each goal, enjoying the fruits of your labor and experiencing in detail as if you already have each thing. If you can own it in your mind it will illuminate the path and the actions you must take to obtain it in the future.

You may have noticed “work hard” or “be lucky” was not on here. Yes, there may be moments where the work is difficult or laborious but that is not a requirement. In reality those feelings are subjective emotions towards a thing. When you feel like things are strenuous it’s in those moments that you perform best and grow the most. If you feel like you are working hard all the time then you need to reconsider how you look at what you are doing. If spending your time doing what you want to be doing then it should be enjoyable the majority of the time. If you are doing it to please someone else it will often be unenjoyable. This feeling is the first sign you may want to reconsider what our goals are.

Never be afraid to change course. All too often we hang on to goals that have outlived their purpose. You are here to enjoy life not just to obtain an award or number. I hope that you can find ways to apply the above ten to your life and you also make millions as quickly or even more quickly than I did.

Feel free to write in the comments below, recommend this post to others and give me feedback. I’d love to hear how you made your first million. Be sure to subscribe because I will be putting my top ten (additional) for making $100,000,000 up soon. I have not done it but I know exactly what I need to do so it’ll be fun to put it out there before I actually do it.
